Part of the fascinating history of the Balkan region, Prince Nicholas was a popular statesman and military leader from 1860-1910. During his 50th anniversary as head of the government he was crowned King Nicholas I. After World War I the Kingdom of Montenegro joined with Serbia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Croatia, Dalmatia and Slovenia to form the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, which was renamed Yugoslavia in 1929.
This colorful set of 12, issued in 1913, are the last stamps issued from this Lost Nation.
