| In an attempt to collect on Confederate States Bonds a British Bondholder Committee was created in 1880 to consolidate outstanding Confederate States of America Bonds into an account so it could sue the U.S. Government for reparation. English bondholders were presented this Scrip Certificate in exchange for their Confederate Bonds. The United States Government rejected the court case brought by the National Safe Deposit Company and the Bondholders' Trustee. These old Certificates sat in a bank vault in England for more than 120 years before being discovered!
Few can boast about owning at least $5000 in Confederate Scrip. Certificate amounts will vary but we guarantee a value of at least $5,000 - an incredible sum of money from almost 150 years ago! (Certificate measures 9 x 8 inches)
