1909 COMMEMORATIVES Three exciting issues celebrate the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth, the purchase of Alaska known as Seward's Folly, and advances in the navigation of New York's Hudson River. A small number of each were left imperforate -- the first commemoratives to bear this distinction -- while fewer than 1% of all Lincolns were printed on a special bluish-gray paper.
