Crown Prince Bao-Long, son on puppet ruler Bao-Dai and heir to the Vietnamese Nguyen dynasty, is portrayed in both native Annamite costume and Western uniform on these beautifully-engraved stamps. This distinctive set was issued just one month after the fall of Dien Bien Phu in a battle that forced France to seek an end to the fighting with Ho Chi Minh's nationalist forces and withdraw from the area.
