# 369 - 2¢ Lincoln, bluish paper - carmine

In 1909, the Post Office briefly experimented with a higher quality rag content paper in an attempt to reduce paper shrinkage during the printing process. Known as "blue paper", the 35% rag content of this paper gives it a bluish-gray tint. Printed in very small numbers, this is the only commemorative stamp on this experimental paper.
