Yugoslavia was invaded by Axis powers on April 6, 1941. On April 17 an armistice was signed at Belgrade. Although the German Army suffered just over 500 casualties, more than 300,000 Yugoslav officers and soldiers were taken prisoner. Many more anti-fascists, communists, Serbs, Gypsies, Jews, and Croats would die in concentration camps throughout the course of the war. Scott 917 Yugoslavia Flag
