# C23 - 6¢ Eagle - dark blue & carmine

At the suggestion of President Roosevelt, a bi-colored design was introduced to pay the 6¢ domestic airmail rate, replacing the 6¢ Winged Globe which had been in use for four years. Many collectors detected a similarity between this new stamp and the trademark design of a famous beer company.
