Cuba #226 10¢ on 10¢ Webster Overprint - 1899 Mint Never-Hinged Overprint Issue

After the Spanish-American War, Cuba was governed by the U.S. until its independence in 1902. U.S. stamps were overprinted "CUBA" in denominations of Peso cents for just a few months before new designs were released. Even though this 10¢ stamp is about 20x scarcer than its non-overprinted U.S. counterpart it sells for much less ... the U.S. 10¢ Webster (#282C) retails for $225 in hinged condition, yet you can own this mint-never hinged 10 cent Cuba overprint for 1/3 of this price!
