Rare Hank Williams Stamp - Perf 11 Mint Issue

Save $3 on this Mint 1993 Issue

Months after its release, sharp-eyed collectors discovered a Hank Williams variety with much finer 11.2 x 11.5 perforations being sold in a few post offices.  The common version of this stamp is perforated 10, the same gauge found on most American Music series stamps.  Amazingly, even the Postal Service was unaware of this variety and it could only be found by searching post office stocks!  Those lucky enough to have found a perf 11.2 x 11.5 Hank Williams stamp should celebrate, it is now considered a major issue by catalog and album makers, and is likely absent from most U.S. collections.  Although no one knows for certain, it is possible that as few as 1 in 1000 Hank Williams stamps are the scarce perf 11.2 x 11.5 variety.

25 years after its discovery, this stamp is still missing in most U.S. collections.  Celebrate the 95th birthday of one of the most influential country musicians – born September 17, 1923 – and save $3 off our regular price!  Order soon as we don't expect our small stock of this scarce mint stamp to last long!  (US #2723A)
