In observance of National Parks Year, these views of 10 natural wonders were the first American commemoratives not directly related to an historical event, exposition or technological achievement. The orange-red color of the 2¢ value, selected by President Roosevelt, is almost identical to the actual color of the Grand Canyon itself.  In 2016 the National Park Service celebrated its centennial for protecting and maintaining these beautiful national treasures.
