Attended by 268,000 collectors over 60 years ago, the Fifth International Philatelic Exhibition (FIPEX) was held in New York from April 28 to May 6, 1956 in the brand new New York Coliseum.  A highlight of the show's opening was the release of an imperforate commemorative sheet reproducing enlarged versions of the 3¢ and 8¢ Statue of Liberty definitives and the signature of the Postmaster General.  This sheet was the first postal issue to be printed in three colors by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

This First Day Cover, postmarked at the exhibition, features an attractive illustrated cachet along with the exclusive "FIPEX Station" First Day commemorative cancel.  Cover cachets will vary. Order now and save $2.50 off our regular price! (US #1075 FDC)
