#1691S - 13¢ Declaration of Independence - Set of 4

This huge patriotic painting by John Trumbull, displayed in our Capitol's rotunda, measures 12 by 18 feet. Commemorating the presentation of the Declaration of Independence to Congress, it pictures 47 figures painted from life, 42 of whom were signers of the Declaration. To celebrate our Bicentennial the post office spread this image across these four stamps issued on July 4, 1976.  Scott 1691-94 Declaration of Independence
