In an unusual move for the U.S. Postal Service, this attractive set of 10 Wild Orchid stamps was issued in both booklet and coil form, with minor design differences in the coil format. Much to collectors' dismay, this coil version was not available in local post offices but only in large rolls of 3,000 or 10,000 stamps for volume mail users. Picturing 10 of the hundreds of beautiful and rare wild orchid species found across the United States, this issue was missed by most collectors due to its limited availability.
