Renowned around the world, Mother Teresa (1910-1997) dedicated her life to the service of the church and to the aid of others through missionary work. Throughout her life she established homes to support those suffering from diseases such as HIV/AIDS, leprosy, and tuberculosis. Members of her congregation have taken vows to help those in need without question, and have done so for over 60 years. In 2016 Mother Theresa was canonized as a saint by Pope Francis.
