Eisenhower Inauguration - Save $3 on this 1953 Cacheted Cover

Following a landslide victory over Illinois Governor Adlai Stevenson, Dwight D. Eisenhower was inaugurated as the 34th President of the United States on January 20, 1953. As one of only nine 5-star Generals in U.S. history, Eisenhower is the highest-ranking military officer to be elected President. As Supreme Allied Commander in Europe in World War II, he oversaw the invasions of France and Germany that would result in victory for the Allies. In his inaugural address he encouraged citizens to help lead the world towards a future of freedom by making peace a way of life.

His first term was a time of relative peace and prosperity. He upheld his promise of ending American involvement in the Korean War, stabilized relations with the Soviet Union, strengthened European alliances, and avoided involvement in other conflicts.
