1948 Silver Wedding Omnibus - Rarest and Most Valuable Complete Mint Album Collection

Great Britain and 68 members of the British Empire celebrated the 25th Wedding anniversary of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth with this colorful postal tribute to their popular King and Queen. The two stamp set common design from each country had a very affordable low value that reflected the cost to mail a letter, but the second stamp had a face value that was the equivalent of the highest postage rate for mailing parcels and registered letters. Once the stamps were taken off sale, the 138 mint stamps that made up this historic collection immediately rose in value and have continued that trend for more than 60 years!
