#2252 - 3¢ Conestoga Wagon - coil
A cleverly designed vehicle, the Conestoga wagon was used extensively during the late 1700s and 1800s in the United States. The Conestoga wagon's floor curved upward to prevent the contents from tipping and shifting. Cracks in the body of the wagon were stuffed with tar to prevent leaks while crossing rivers. The wagon has become iconic of the California Gold Rush. Scott 2252 Conestoga Wagon
