#2501S - 25¢ Indian Headdresses - Set of 5

These five Native American Headdress stamps were part of the Folk Art Series, and the first to be in booklet format. Headdresses were once worn in battle, but are now mainly used during ceremonial occasions. In the Native American communities that traditionally have these headdresses, they are seen as items of great spiritual and political importance, only to be worn by those who have earned the right and respect through formal recognition by their people.
