#2781 - 29¢ Lindbergh

Order Pre-cut Mounts 41 x 31 mm - 40 per pack

A US Air Mail pilot by age 25, the young Charles Lindbergh would gain international celebrity in 1927 as the first person to fly non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean. For his accomplishments in aviation, Lindbergh was awarded the Medal of Honor and became a champion for Air Mail Services and commercial air travel in the United States. Featured on other pieces of philately, he has the distinction of being the first living person honored on a US postage stamp, as C-10 "Lindbergh Air Mail" was issued weeks after his trans-Atlantic flight.
