A US Air Mail pilot by age 25, the young Charles Lindbergh would gain international celebrity in 1927 as the first person to fly non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean. For his accomplishments in aviation, Lindbergh was awarded the Medal of Honor and became a champion for Air Mail Services and commercial air travel in the United States.
