#4221 - 41¢ Year of the Rat
In Chinese mythology, Buddha asked that all animals meet him on the day of the Chinese New Year, and that the first twelve to arrive would have a year named after them. People who are born under each animal’s sign are said to inherit some of that animal’s traits. Those born under the sign of the Rat are said to be charismatic and sociable, but can also be cunning and manipulative. This stamp is the first in a series of twelve that will honor each animal in the Zodiac. Scott 4221 Year of the Rat
