Ghana Independence - 1957 Complete Mint Set of 9

Previously the British colony of Gold Coast, the 1957 independence of Ghana prompted a movement where dozens of European-ruled African territories would be granted independence within a few years. The last colonial stamps from Gold Coast picturing Queen Elizabeth II were overprinted for release on Ghana's independence day. (Ghana #5-13)
