1986 Maldives Mint Set of 4

The Maldives, a group of coral atolls southwest of India, is home to over 1100 species of fish. Over 700,000 tourists visit the Maldives annually, attracted by its wealth of scuba diving opportunities. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) is the largest international conservation organization aiding more than 100 countries in wilderness and animal preservation. The endangered animals featured on each nation's WWF postage stamps are native to that country and provide awareness to help support their conservation efforts. (#1185-87, 1189)
