Albania #153 - 1923 Mint Never-Hinged Issue

Known today as the city of Durres, this issue shows the Fortress of Dursit built in the 5th centry by Byzantine Emperor Anastasius I, making it one of the oldest and most fortified cities on the Adriatic. In 1939, this fortress was so strong that a small local force was able to halt the invasion of the Italian army! (Albania #153)
