Austria #B252-59 Salzburg Cathedral - 1948 Mint Set of 8

The historic 17th century Salzburg Cathedral was heavily damaged in World War II when a single bomb crashed through its roof. This set, showing views of the cathedral and patron Saint Rupert, was issued to raise funds for its 10-year restoration effort. The cathedral still contains the baptismal font from Mozart’s 1756 baptism. (Austria #B252-59)
