Delayed Cuba Columbus Set - 1936 Mint NH Set of 5
Planned for release in 1936 to honor Columbus’s 1492 landing in Cuba, this set was printed in Spain and ready to ship - until history intervened. The outbreak of the Spanish Civil War halted delivery, and World War II kept the stamps locked away for nearly a decade. After these conflicts a small supply of these officially authorized but never issued stamps quietly reach collectors.
From an old-time dealer’s hoard, we’ve secured a few scarce mint sheets of this long-delayed set.
