Russia #921-22 United Against Hitler - 1944 Mint Set of 2

Declaring June 14 to be "Day of the Nations United Against Germany", it may have been foretelling at the time these stamps were issued in May 1944 that by June 14, 8 days after the invasion of Normandy, the Allies would be well on their way to defeating Hitler's Germany. These are some of the few stamps of the Soviet Union to show the flags of the three Allied powers: the United States, USSR, and Great Britain. (Russia #921-22)
