Germany #492-93 Annexing Danzig - 1939 Mint NH Set of 2

Known today as Gdansk, Poland, this port city was historically part of Prussia and existed as the independent state of Danzig between the world wars. With the fall of Poland to Nazi Germany, the strategically important port was annexed by Germany. This issue shows two of the city's landmarks, St. Mary's Church and the historic Crane Gate, (Germany #492-93)
