Romania pays tribute to the first 10 American astronauts and Soviet cosmonauts to orbit the Earth with this historic set of 10. For the first time, an Iron Curtain country honored American astronauts! These stamps show the astronauts with their national flags, the dates of their missions, ship names and number of orbits. Included are Russian Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, and Americans John Glenn, Scott Carpenter, Walter Schirra and Gordon Cooper (Romania #C151-160)
