Sarawak #15 - The White Rajah - 1891 Mint Issue

As a reward for quelling a local revolt, British sailor James Brooke was awarded the title of Rajah of Sarawak by the Sultan of Brunei. His nephew Charles Johnson Brooke ruled after the death of James from 1868 to 1917. Each postage stamp issued by Sarawak during the reign of the White Rajahs pictured the Brookes. (Sarawak #15)
