# 922 - 3¢ Transcontinental Railroad

Authorized by the Pacific Railway Act of 1862, the Pacific Railroad was granted U.S. government bonds and extensive land grants in order to complete the First American Transcontinental Railroad. The line was opened for through traffic on May 10, 1869. Scott 922 Transcontinental Railroad
