#5939 - First Continental Congress

The First Continental Congress was a meeting of delegates from 12 of the original 13 colonies held in Philadelphia from September 5 to October 26, 1774, at the onset of the American Revolution. The meeting was organized after England passed the retaliatory Intolerable Acts in response to the Boston Tea Party. This meeting was one of the first signs that a new nation was emerging.
