Clyde McPhatter traveled with the groups Billy Ward and the Dominoes and the Drifters, and eventually launched a solo career. He recorded music for 22 years before his spiraling descent into alcoholism cost him his life in 1972. He left behind a legacy of pop, R&B and soul, and was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Scott 2726 Clyde McPhatter
