#2852 - 29¢ Nat "King" Cole

Order Pre-cut Mounts 41 x 31 mm - 40 per pack

Like many musicians of the 1930s, Nat "King" Cole was introduced to music through gospel roots, later branching out into jazz and blues. Growing up in Chicago, Cole would sneak off to music clubs for inspiration from the likes of Louis Armstrong. After launching a successful big band and jazz career, Nat "King" Cole would go on to be the first African-American to host a variety show on television, "The Nat King Cole Show" in 1956. Sadly, the menthol cigarettes that Cole believed created the smooth sound of his voice gave the singer lung cancer, and he passed away at the age of 45. Scott 2852 Nat "King" Cole
