A famous humorist, cartoonist and writer for The New Yorker magazine, James Thurber often chose to focus on the eccentricities of normal people in his work. His career as a cartoonist started only after his friend E.B. White, fellow New Yorker contributor found some of his drawings in a trash can and submitted them for publication.
