#5531 - Kwanzaa

Meaning “first fruits of the harvest” in Swahili, the holiday of Kwanzaa was established in 1966 as a way to help African-Americans reconnect with their ancestral culture and heritage. Each of the seven days of Kwanzaa are dedicated to a different principle, including unity, creativity, and faith among others, all of which are meant to assert the ideas of identity and improvement, both in one’s self as well as in the community. An annual holiday, Kwanzaa is a weeklong celebration from December 26 to January 1. Scott 5531 Kwanzaa
