#5852 - Betty Ford

Betty Ford (1918 - 2011) was the first lady of the United States from 1974 to 1977, wife of president Gerald Ford. She was active in social policy, working to try and get the Equal Rights Amendment passed. She was very open about discussing her substance abuse problems, helping to remove the stigma of addiction.
