#765 - 10¢ Great Smoky Mtns. - black imperforate without gum
Great Smoky Mountains National Park was chartered in 1934 and officially dedicated in 1940. Covering a half million acres of the Blue Ridge Mountains between Tennessee and North Carolina, it is the most visited of the National Parks and one of the largest protected areas in the eastern United States. The natural fog that hangs over the range gives the mountains their name. As part of the Farley Special Printings, this stamp was issued imperforate and without gum. Scott 765 Great Smoky Mountains
