Bohemia-Moravia Album - 1939-1944 Mint Album Collection of 162
In 1939 Hitler’s Storm Troopers invaded neighboring Czechoslovakia, dividing it into the protectorate of Bohemia-Moravia and the puppet state of Slovakia. Under the Nazi occupiers, they issued stamps for just 5 years before being liberated. These wartime stamps cover a variety of topics, from the beautiful medieval castles and Czech heroes to portraits of Hitler and even stamps intended for use by Nazi party officials. These 162 mint stamps – 89% of all stamps issued by this Nazi-controlled state and all in complete sets – are displayed and protected in an attractive album. Now over 80 years old, it is nearly complete except for the first overprinted set #1-19. (Bohemia-Moravia #20-90, B1-28, EX1-2, J1-14, O1-24 & P1-19)
