Canal Zone #53 - 1918 2-centavo Issue

Although it was a territory of the United States, the earliest issues of the Canal Zone were overprinted on the current stamps of Panama. This 1918 issue pictures Fernandez de Cordoba, a Spanish conquistador who conquered much of Central America for Spain. (Canal Zone #53 used)
