First French Antarctic Issue - Mint 1955 Overprinted Issue

In 1955, the French Southern and Antarctic Territories were officially established, creating the first permanent French research presence in Antarctica. Marking this milestone, a stamp originally issued for Madagascar was overprinted for use in the new territory. (FSAT #1)
