First US - Russia Joint Issue - Save 20% - U.S. #1569-70 Apollo Soyuz Sheet

50 years ago the United States and the Soviet Union launched the Apollo-Soyuz joint space mission, marking the end of two decades of a highly competitive space race.  This peaceful mission, in which American and Soviet vehicles linked in space on July 15, 1975, and conducted experiments together, was a major step in normalizing relations between the two superpowers.  The success of this mission led to further multi-national cooperation, culminating in the International Space Station.

This historic mission was commemorated with identical stamp issues from the U.S. and Russia, featuring designs contributed by acclaimed American space artist Robert McCall and Russian artist Anatoly Aksamit, the first joint issue between the two nations.  Here is your chance to own a complete sheet - some of the largest stamps ever issued by the U.S. Post Office, and suitable for framing.
