Liechtenstein B7-10 Rhine Flood Relief - Liechtenstein 1928 Complete Mint Set of 4
In September 1927, warm rains melted the snow in the Alps and a major dam in Switzerland burst, flooding the Rhine River running into Liechtenstein and turning the small landlocked county into a muddy lake. Much of the population was suddenly homeless, and volunteers from 25 nations rushed to help. These stamps, issued to raise funds for flood victims, show the devastation and the efforts of the relief workers. (Liechtenstein #B7-10)
