Norway #177-80 King Haakon - 1937-1938 Mint NH Set of 4

The second son of the king of Denmark, Haakon VII was Norway's first king after the dissolution of the union of Norway and Sweden and ruled for almost 52 years. These were the last stamps to picture Haakon before World War II, when the Nazi occupation sent Haakon into exile during the war. His refusal to abdicate during the occupation inspired the resistance movement. (Norway #177-80)
