Philippines #217 - 1899 10¢ Webster Overprint

Following the defeat of Spain in the Spanish-American War, the Philippines became a territory of the United States. This first post-colonial postal issue featuring Daniel Webster was overprinted on existing United States stamps by the interim military government until a civilian government was established.
