Carpatho-Ukraine #103-08 - 1945 Mint Set of 6

After Hitler split Czechoslovakia into Bohemia-Moravia and Slovakia in March 1939, its eastern-most territory became Carpatho-Ukraine. It was occupied by Nazi-backed Hungary until 1945, when the Soviet Red Army prevailed and it became part of the Soviet Ukrainian State after the war. These rarely-seen 1945 issues picture the hammer-and-sickle emblem of the brief Russian-backed independent government. (Carpatho-Ukraine #103-08)
