Boyd's Dispatch - 1882 Mint Issue

Three years before our first U.S. stamp was issued, John T. Boyd established a local mail service in New York City in 1844 that provided same-day delivery for just 2¢ a letter. By the mid-1850’s Boyd employed 45 carriers, more than 2,500 collecting boxes and delivered 6,000 to 15,000 letters daily! (#20L56 mint never-hinged)
