#2968 - 32¢ Texas Sesquicentennial
Order Pre-cut Mounts 40 x 25 mm - 40 per pack
The largest of the continental states, the territory that would eventually become Texas caused a dispute between Mexico and the United States that sparked the Mexican-American War. Since assuming statehood, Texas always had strong agricultural roots, but since the discovery of oil and natural gas it has become an energy production powerhouse, producing almost 4.8 million barrels of oil per day. After celebrating its Sesquicentennial in 1995, and as the US looks to alternative forms of energy, Texas has invested heavily in wind and solar technologies to keep itself relevant in the evolving energy market.
