Norway #70-73 King Haakon - 1911-18 Mint NH Set of 4

The son of the future king of Denmark, Haakon VII was Norway's first king after the dissolution of the union of Norway and Sweden and ruled for almost 52 years. His refusal to abdicate during the World War II Nazi occupation inspired the resistance movement. These are the first designs to picture Haakon. (Norway #70-73)
