Occupied Libya #2NC2 - 1948 Mint NH Airmail

With the fall of Mussolini’s Italy, Libya was divided into smaller provinces and administered by the British and French until an independent government could be established. The province of Fezzan, the southwest portion of Libya, was under French administration and issued a small number of attractive engraved stamps, including this airmail issue picturing a French plane flying over a map of the territory.
