Philippines #221 - 1901 6¢ Garfield Overprint

Following the defeat of Spain in the Spanish-American War, the Philippines became a territory of the United States. This first post-colonial postal issue featuring James Garfield was overprinted on existing United States stamps by the interim military government until a civilian government was established.
